18:00pm: Final Q&A – Answering the questions you sent in to School throughout the week, Head, Mr Neil Smith, is joined by Senior Deputy Head, Mr Lee Richardson, Deputy Head (Academic), Mr Nick Axon, and Deputy Head (Pupil Welfare), Mrs Susan James in a round table discussion to talk about the topics that really matter.
18:00pm: Beyond CHS – Warm wishes from a world of over 13,000 ‘Old Wacs’ with president of the Old Waconians, broadcaster, and Strictly Come Dancing star, Katie Derham (Class of 1988). Alumni Relations Manager, Charlotte Aspin talks about keeping students connected post CHS and the role of Old Waconians in School today, and follow the career paths of Old Waconians who reveal how CHS set them on their way with the skills, confidence and desire to expand their horizons and succeed in their chosen field.
10:00am: Parent Twitter Takeover – This morning we welcome CHS parents Vicki and Roco who are taking over our School Twitter feed by answering your questions about what it’s really like to be part of the CHS community. What have you always wanted to know about CHS but never asked? Tweet your Qs with #chsParentTakeover and we’ll put it to the panel…
18:00pm: Creative CHS – CHS Head of Art & Design, Mr Adam Hayley introduces the creative side of CHS. Joined by CHS Director of Music, Mr Andrew Pettitt, CHS Head of Drama & Theatre, Ms Clare Harms, and CHS Head of Design & Technology, Mr Luke Dunn, hear how the School’s pupils are being set up for a life of creativity in an ever-changing landscape. This film moves from CHS’s annual exhibition at Manchester Art Fair, traces the steps of creating almost entirely digitally, follows the footsteps of Old Waconians who have taken their first steps into TV appearing on Netflix series, and whose roles have seen them settle in Los Angeles. At CHS the creative world is full of endless possibilities.
10:25am: CH Style! – From the School’s early days right through to today, whether in the classroom or on the sports field, Cheadle Hulme School’s iconic green and gold has been worn with pride for countless generations amongst its Waconians and Waconian athletes alike. We asked a few students from the Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form and different Houses (indicated by the different colours on their School ties) to don their blazer and strike their best poses to show off the School uniform.
10:00am: The Practicalities – CHS Senior Operations Manager, Martyn Mancey-Johnson answers 32 FAQs about Uniform, Transport, Food, and Health & Safety, also featuring films with our students brilliantly modelling the School uniform and Sports Kit, as well as information on how CHS is making every effort to ensure it remains a Covid-secure School.
18:00pm: Academic & Pastoral Life – CHS Senior Deputy Head, Mr Lee Richardson, CHS Deputy Head (Academic), Mr Nick Axon, and Deputy Head (Pupil Welfare), Mrs Susan James give a deeper insight into the School curriculum covering information such as exams, student destinations post-chs, digital and remote learning, our reformed Key Stage 3 curriculum, and even developing independent learning through Thinking Skills… plus much more!
10:00am: Meet The Waconians – CHS Head of Sixth Form, Mr Michael Jones kicks off the new week with a brief introduction and students from across the School share what makes CHS Special. Hear from Head Boy, James and Head Girl, Beth and also from Year 11 student Aneeka who shares her own ‘Day In The Life’ of CHS…
12:30pm: CHS SPORT – CHS Assistant Director of Sport, Mr Giles Heagerty and the Sports coaches come to you live from the Fitness Suite in CHS’s state of the art Sports Pavilion, to give you a brief taster of what life is like for the School’s young athletes. Plus hear from students on the High Performance and Elite Performance programmes…
10am – 10.45am: A warm welcome from CHS Head, Mr Smith, who also puts a few questions to a panel of students. Watch a tour of the School from the Class of 2020’s Oscar and find out more about the Admissions process…
